You don’t need to confine your cycling to the paths or roads in visiting Vientiane. Laos is a land filled with lush foliage, providing you with a great opportunity to get off-road biking in no matter where you’re at in the country.
A couple of hours drive to the northeast you will find Phou Khao Khounay National Park. This is another place that people love to go and camp. Because of the rivers and waterfalls there are great places to bathe and get water for your needs, plus there are many kinds of berries and plants that are available to help provide for your sustenance. You should be aware that a national preserve is located within the park, and you are not able to camp out within this area. Check with local park officials to determine the places where you can set up your campsite.
